Forged Coat Hanger - Beginner

Courses start summer 2026 Spend the day at the forge making a hand forged coat hanger from solid steel. This is a great project for dialing in hammer control and learning how to move steel cleanly and efficiently. You’ll practice drawing out tapers, forming smooth bends, and adding subtle details that give the piece character without overworking it. We’ll focus on proportion, symmetry, and clean finishes so the final piece looks simple and intentional. You’ll leave with a functional coat hanger that’s strong, balanced, and built to last, along with a better feel for the fundamentals of forging.
